Virtual Reality Headset – Get Set!
My fave brand is Oculus. You can buy the Go or the Rift right now, or coming soon is the Quest. I personally prefer the Rift, but eventually will get the Quest because it allows you to access both AltSpaceVR and Facebook Spaces. If you take the VR plunge, meet up with me for weekly yoga classes on AltSpaceVR and weekly Social PR Secrets and Digital Detox Secrets meetups on Facebook Spaces.
A recent Facebook report confirms VR and AR will be part of our all we do in our daily lives, from shopping to socializing. Marketers and entrepreneurs need to brace themselves to embrace VR and integrate it into their the Social PR and marketing strategy. By 2020, it’s predicted that more than 1 in 5 internet users in the US will experience VR content at least once a month. When it comes to augmented reality, it’s already part of our everyday lives. Instagram stories and Snapchat filters are AR overlays. If you’re a newbie, we broke down all you need to know about VR here. If you’re a more advanced user, follow Social VR expert, Navah Berg here.
Portal by Facebook
It’s Facebook’s latest video-calling device. Think Facetime on steroids. Portal by Facebook takes video calls to a whole new level and experience. It also includes Augmented Reality effects to make calls even more fun and interactive. Story Time brings stories to life with custom sound effects and visuals.
Besides stress, one of the hottest topics this year is CBD oil. Ironically, it is one of the best and most natural cures for stress and anxiety while also improving cognitive functions and promoting sleep. I started taking Ojai Energetics this summer and watched my sleep analytics significantly improve. Thanks to data on my Fitbit, I could see the improvements in my REM, deep and light sleep plus I woke up much less in the middle of the night. So out of all of the CBD oil options, why do I love Ojai?
They encapsulate the full spectrum hemp oil in nanobubbles of water so that it is instantly absorbed upon contact with the mouth. What does this mean to me and possibly you? I can actually feel the benefits in 30 seconds not 30 minutes like normal CBD rich oils. It also increases the amount of CBD the body can use by 20x the regular amount.
On top of that, they use only certified organic ingredients, unlike anyone else who uses synthetically modified or synthetic compounds to encapsulate their oil.
Deepak Chopra Free 21 Day Meditations
Hanging out with a spiritual thought leader for 21 days can make shift happen. My most dysfunctional days are the days I skip mediation. Deepak Chopra makes it easy by giving us a new Sanskrit mantra each day to repeat to yourself during the silent meditation period, which helps calm your mind and deepen your practice. If you haven’t already, create an account for free to experience the undeniable benefits of meditation for yourself.
Follow Deepak’s social channels to be notified when he launches his mediation challenges. Sometimes Oprah even joins him. Sign up to be notified and in the meantime start meditating right now! Start with this:
1. #Breathe in. Breathe out.
2. Don’t just see, but #FEEL what’s around you
3. #Forgive yourself
4. Be #grateful for the #moment and how it is helping you evolve.
Old school spiral notebooks are one of my favorite ways to journal my to-do list each day. If you buy the You Are Badass book, you will especially need a notebook to write out all the negative thoughts you keep in your brain and all the things you are grateful for each day. My favorite spiral notebook is by ban.do. Each page even has a space for the date. Most importantly, it lies flat or folds over.
There is no denying the power of the written word. Just the act of writing down your dreams and goals, ignites an entirely new dimension of consciousness, ideas, and productivity according to Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California. She found you become 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams simply by writing them down on a regular basis.
Dreams do come true when you write down your goals. Try it for 7 days straight and let me know how your superpowers worked @LisaBuyer.
Whether it is a business mastermind such as the elite Baby Bathwater event, a destination industry workshop such as Cat Howell’s Facebook in Fiji, or the entrepreneur excursion Unplugged in Fiji, find a conference that focuses on relationship building and learning.
On the personal side – leave work in a box with boundaries. Take an unplugged time out even if it’s your own bathtub spa experience, going to the gym, checking out for lunch, or planning a vacation somewhere where your inbox is on auto response. Researchers found that when people “unplugged” from work-related tasks, such as checking their work email after hours, they reported feeling fresher and more recharged when beginning work the following day.
Ultimately, the key to success in Social PR is to find your zen throughout it. Who’s in charge of your brand in 2019? Your customers. Make sure you are taking care of your customers where they are hanging out on social media. According to Sprinklr, 80% of consumers engage with brands online, and 54% of customers prefer social messaging channels for care instead of phone or email.
