Trending Topics Bubble Up: #whitespace #usesforwhitespace
Google seems to “get it” when it comes to the value of white space in design. There are a number of elements that make up a great web design, but probably one of the most overlooked and underutilized is whitespace. It’s been less than 24 hours since Google unveiled the white space makeover, but already the reviews are mixed; spurring a new meme thanks to Social Media Strategist Michelle Marie who has over 1 million Google + Followers.
“Moments after the new UI went live for me I put up a couple sticky notes over the white space, took a picture then posted the picture in Google+ telling everyone to stop whining and use the space for something creative,” said Marie.
What are the possibilities for Google + #whitespace?

The #usesforwhitespace ideas are endless.
“My intent was to get people to have fun with the white space rather than cry over it. Once I saw it began to take off I created a white space meme contest offering a prize to the best photo. We’ve all been getting some good laughs at everyone’s funny and creative idea,” said Marie.
