Online PR Expert Lisa Buyer is slated to speak at the 2011 Online Newsroom Summit on September 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The virtual conference will be the first of its kind, focused specifically on online newsrooms, social media and digital communications.
Buyer is in good company, joining representatives from Ford Motor Company, Intel and Dunkin’ Donuts, along with other digital PR experts Dierdre Breakenridge, Dan Criscenti, and Robin Carey to discuss best practices and successful strategies of using an Online Newsroom.
Presentations will include: Online Newsroom Basics, Integrating Social Media into your Online Newsroom, Measuring the Success of your Online Newsroom, Best-In-Class Online Newsroom Walkthroughs, and an in-depth look at the Online Newsroom Survey Report.
This conference will be held online and will be hosted and moderated by Steve Momorella with TEKGROUP International.
Buyer advocates the importance of corporate online newsrooms, pointing out that a newsroom serves as the nucleus of content, driving Facebook posts, Tweets and videos. Newsrooms are begging to be publicized, optimized and socialized, she says.
According to a recent survey, 89 percent of editors and reporters indicated they turn to blogs for story research, including online newsrooms. Because of this, Buyer strongly recommends optimizing newsroom content for the search engines – and the people using them. In addition, companies should make it easy to share their content, via social tools such as a Facebook Like box and a Tweet this button.
